Larkspur coziness and city wine tasting

Crosshatched clouds in Marin. Cozy atmosphere at Farmshop where I always try to stop in when I'm in the neighborhood. The bottom left is a bottle of a favorite local Sonoma wine by Banshee that I picked up at a wine tasting at Little Vine

rainy, fog filled morning at the market

french vibes

I decided to take a walk to decompress from the day and stop for a little people watching over chai outside at La Boulange

California

Our little succulent sidewalk garden is thriving and prompting smiles.

dahlias at the park

I spent the day with a two year old and decided to bring her to the Dahlia Garden at Golden Gate Park for a an afternoon filled with flowers.

cheers!

Hooray! I'm honored to be in the 7x7 collection of recognized favorite photos... twice. Here's a photo taken at the Anchor Steam Beer tour and then this pic of a colorful SF home was included in another set on their website. Thank you, 7X7? <3

beach days... in October

I picked a friend up and we headed to Fort FUNston for a little relaxing at the beach with drinks, radio and a few magazines in tow

balance

I made an early Saturday morning appointment for a spa facial/massage at Aveda and found myself really wanting the extra sleep, but it was worth it. I was able to recharge and balance after ridding myself of a little built up stress.

school days

So thankful Philz coffee was within walking distance for an afternoon chai. The next day I came prepared with hot earl grey tea. Alas, two mornings in a row with a little pick me up and toys to pick up with a little help from the kindergarteners.

the very best of fall and summer

Well... San Francisco weather can change fast with temperatures swinging from high to low when the fog rolls in. You can experience all four seasons in one day and lately we've had temperatures in the 70's with sun shining on the fall crops like winter squash and the last few figs like these striped beauties. The city seems to be soaking this all in with extra time at a park or ice cream. Bi Rite is still churning delicious flavors like blueberry cheesecake (above).

chocolate on chocolate

a morning meeting with MKLA at Four Barrel for their Birthday celebration with free coffee drinks all day had me changing my latte order to a mocha complete with local Dandelion chocolate. With coffee in hand we headed to Tartine for a place to sit and breakfast with us splitting a ham and cheese croissant and this lovely little banana cream pie with chocolate shavings and the fluffiest whipped cream.

planets discovered

Urban Ore is one of those places that really feels like an urban treasure hunt. This reuse center sells building materials that make me eager to have a little more space, but also reminds you to restrain all urges to start hoarding. I love this moon poster and always look to see if it's still there.

Bakesale Betty

This east bay gem is worth a trip over the bridge for a crunchy chicken sandwich with spicy coleslaw dotted with thin slices of jalapeno. The seasonal dessert was strawberry shortcake with the last of the summer/fall berries. We split a sandwich and then had our own shortcake... which I highly recommend.

gorgeous bay views

I was so elated to drive over the new eastern span of the East Bay Bridge that I managed to make a trip over on the first full day it was open.

succulents and ceramics

I potted a few succulents in a tiny clay pot for my friend Courtney's Birthday and it's balanced on a small teacup saucer while they settle in. I tracked down a small cast iron skillet for her too, but this tiny gem was so cute I had to share. I came across this towering jade plant and colorful tiles set into the sidewalk while on a walk.

take me out to the ballgame

by me some peanuts and crackerjacks... or an ice cream sundae with two cherries. Baseball is one of the best sports to enjoy live, especially with a view like this, a bay breeze, and sunshine. Go Giants!

love all

...of you.

elote and smoked potatoes with a view

Another Friday night at the food carts with a park bench view of the bay and Golden Gate Bridge at sunset. It was windy enough to crave hot food so a shared order of elote and loaded smoked potatoes was an easy decision. Elote translates as roasted corn on the cob, and Mexico is known for its version with sour cream or mayonnaise, chile powder, crumbled cheese, and sometimes I add a little hot sauce.
